Staff Accountant  Main Job Responsibilities:


·         Record Sales and update inventory reports for multiple companies

·         Assist Accounts Payable with researching invoice discrepancies and be the backup for processing check requests and purchase requisitions.

·         Assist in coding accounts payable and receivables for clerks to input

·         Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

·         Audit and reconcile Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll accounts

·         Performing bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations

·         Maintaining the company's general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts, including posting and preparing opening, adjusting, and closing journal entries

·         Cash management including preparing bank transfers, utilizing credit,& anticipating cash needs

·         Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

·         Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.

·         Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

·         Assist Controller with preparing financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows

·         Assist VP of Operations daily and process payroll weekly

Skills required:

  • QuickBooks experience highly recommended.
  • Strong understanding of the Chart of Accounts and General ledger a must.
  • Accounting degree preferred; may substitute 3-5 years manufacturing or construction accounting experience instead.
  • Experience with multiple companies in a high paced environment a must!
  • Intermediate Excel Skills and basic word processing skills
  • Excellent Communication skills (both in verbal and written form). Will communicate with clients, vendors, and banking contacts.
