Position Description

Responsible for the on-site review and repair of warranted residential construction. In addition, this position assists with the administration of warranty orders by processing and closing tickets, reviewing reports and following up on tickets as necessary to assure timely completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (performs other duties as assigned)

  • Meets with homeowners to determine needed repairs and verify warranty claim.
  • Supervises subcontractors on scheduled appointments.
  • Insures the protection of area of the home being worked on as well as surrounding areas.
  • Makes sure work areas are cleaned prior to leaving home.
  • Participates in Customer Service follow-up with homeowners.
  • Works with Production Management and other departments to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
  • Evaluates project costs and maintains budgets.
  • Completes all inspections required paperwork, including scheduling and payment approvals.
  • Reviews warranty reports and follows up on repairs to insure timely completion. Works with sub-contractors when necessary.
  • Closes out orders in the computer to maintain accurate records.
  • Conforms with all safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain clean, well organized work area.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid state drivers license in good standing

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear, stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: Predominantly works in a variety of completed residential homes, traveling in personal vehicle to each site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
